Dedicated to making vision insurance and high-quality eye care accessible for all Americans, the NAVCP advocates for public policies, provides accurate, actionable vision care information, and aims to simplify health care administration. As part of its simplification efforts, the NAVCP created the Universal Credentialing Alliance (UCA), which cuts credentialing costs and reduces administrative workload for eye care professionals through a variety of policy changes.
The UCA has aligned many credential dates for providers who participate in multiple managed vision care plan networks. Additionally, the organization has successfully created a more efficient re-credentialing schedule, as well as a uniform credentialing application format that saves time by requiring providers to enter information just once, rather than for each plan.
